What I help with

You don't have to sort this out on your own.

Most individuals have been injured by situations or relationships at some point in their lives. Wounds that haven't been processed well can hinder a healthy, balanced life for years. We start where you are and work toward something that feels livable again.

Depression & anxiety

When worry, dread, or numbness has become the background noise of your day.

Marriage & relationships

Couples work grounded in Gottman Method training — for repair, reconnection, or a hard decision.

Parenting

Practical support for parents of strong-willed kids, teens in crisis, or a house that feels like conflict.

Grief counseling

After a death, a divorce, or the loss of the life you expected — grief at your own pace.

Financial & career

Money stress and career crossroads, informed by years as a financial life coach.

Life coaching

Forward-looking, goal-focused work — for a big decision, a new chapter, or getting unstuck.

Also offering individual, couples and family therapy, and women's issues. Not sure whether we're a fit? Ask me — a short call usually answers it.

Mary Flack, MA, LPC, counselor at Talk It Out Counseling in Highlands Ranch, Colorado

About Mary

Twenty years of listening closely.

"It is my desire that one would find personal healing, learn and apply tools for personal growth, and ultimately have the freedom to be who he or she desires to be."

My heart is full of compassion for people, and I deeply desire to see healing and wholeness in their lives. I've been a counselor since 2004, and before that I worked as a financial life coach — which is part of why money, work, and the strain they put on a marriage come up so often in my office. I'm also a mother of five, so I have a fairly unsentimental view of what family life actually demands.

My approach is talk-based and grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy. Together we bring into the open the patterns, pain, or brokenness that are quietly shaping your life — and then we work on what changes. For couples, I draw on Gottman Method training. You should expect to be listened to carefully and spoken to honestly.

Client stories

In their words.

Shared with permission. First names only.

Mary saved my life from a downward spiral. I was so overwhelmed and stuck that I chose to do nothing. Mary sensed this, and through questions and listening helped me see my best options step by step — and gave me the courage to trust my own decisions.

Client, Highlands Ranch

We went to see Mary when we were in financial distress. Meeting with her became the highlight of our week, and every penny spent was well worth it. We love Mary — we would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Chris

One thing that stands out to me about Mary is that her love and acceptance surround you like a comforting embrace. Her guidance is gentle as she listens and speaks life and truth.
